Headache Treatment

Frequent head and neck pain can affect day-to-day activities and hinder us from being productive. Many people experience headaches daily and never find relief. Did you know that problems in your jaw could be causing your headaches? Our office uses T-Scan technology to check for possible jaw joint issues that could be causing head pain.

Occlusion is the term for the contact between the maxillary (upper) and mandibular (lower) teeth when they approach each other. If your teeth do not meet together properly when your mouth closes, we call this malocclusion, and this can lead to many other problems for your mouth. When the teeth connect evenly, it allows you to break down hard food just as well as soft food. When the upper and lower jaws do not meet evenly, it can cause discomfort while chewing and damage the gums, teeth, jaw bone and muscles. When your jaw is damaged, it may start to send pain signals to the head and neck. Our office uses T-scan technology called bite calibration to check for causes of head pain.

Signs of an uneven bite are broken, damaged teeth or extensive wear to the teeth. Other symptoms include pain in the jaw and the surrounding muscles as well as head and neck pain. If you suffer from recurring or debilitating headaches, give us a call to find out more about bite calibration and set up a consultation today!
