Sedation Learning Center

Pain Disappear! Free Laughing Gas Is HERE!

Our patient’s comfort and health is our number one priority, we offer several sedation options to ease any anxiety or fear our patients may experience during treatment. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation and IV (intravenous) sedation. Sedation is a great option for fearful adults, children and patients with special needs. Below we have listed some common questions many of our first-time patients may have.

If you are a new patient, we offer a Free New Patient Exam and X-Ray. Ask us about free laughing gas with your procedure.

Otherwise known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is administered through a facial mask during the time of your procedure. It provides a deep sense of relaxation. When your procedure is done, the mask will be removed and the effects should wear off quickly, allowing you to drive yourself home.

Oral sedation is otherwise known as conscious sedation, in which you will be very relaxed, but you will still be awake. We will give you a pill prior to your appointment. Most patients only recall some of the dental procedure. You will need a friend or family member to take you to your appointment and drive you home afterwards. The sedation will wear off a few hours after your treatment.

Intravenous sedation is sometimes referred to as “sleep” dentistry, because patients who undergo IV sedation fall into a deep state of relaxation, and may have only partial memory from the procedure, or none at all. IV sedation is the deepest form of sedation. It is very safe and administered by a professional who will closely monitor your vital signs. After your procedure, you will need a friend or family member to drive you home. You will need to relax for the rest of the day. This type of sedation will wear off by the evening of your treatment.

Most patients wake up feeling relaxed with almost no memory of their treatment. In most cases, you will not feel anything; you will experience very little discomfort.

No, you will be conscious and responsive, just in a deep state of relaxation.

Sedation dentistry is a great option for patients that need to complete a lot of dental work in a short period of time. Sedation will allow us to complete complex or time-intensive treatments in one visit without the patient becoming fatigued. This is great for anyone who has trouble sitting still and calm for extended periods of time. You can complete all your treatment in one visit, saving time and money and best of all you will wake up feeling relaxed.

What Others Are Saying

“As someone who has had poor, to fair, experiences with dentists around the Dallas area, I highly recommend Dr. Neeley and his office staff. The staff are, consistently, helpful and friendly, Dr. Neeley is expert in his work and certainly pain free, and, most importantly, the entire office is very much no-pressure in their attitude. In other words, I am never concerned–as I have been, at other offices–that I am being pressured to pay for, and have, a procedure I don’t need.”

“My husband was always raving about his great dentist and his office staff. He said they were friendly, professional, competent and saw patients on time! I decided I would schedule an appointment but I was sure it probably would not be as great as my husband described. Well, this time he was right. After meeting Josie at my appointment today, I think I have met all his staff and I can say that Dr. Neeley and his office staff are great. They have removed my anxiety and fear of dentistry and met my every expectation. Thank you Dr. Neeley and staff.”
